Engaging Citizens: Highlights from the EU Rural Pact Policy Lab in Brussels

Marieta Okenkova from the Slovak PoliRural Plus pilot and Gabriel O’Connell from MID the Irish PoliRural Plus pilot attended the recent EU Rural Pact Policy Lab held in Brussels on 22nd of May.

This Rural Pact event focused on ‘Bringing the Rural Pact closer to citizens’ on the ground in rural areas across Europe. This high level Policy Action Lab, organised by the Rural Pact Support Office, developed proposals to enhance the achievement of the Rural Vision and Pact objectives at the local level. The key Objectives of the Policy Lab was to identify key ingredients for a successful implementation of the Rural Pact at the local level and to share initiatives and approaches and exchange information on how the Rural Pact can be brought closer to citizens.
