The "Federation for the Development of the Sierra and Mancha Conquense" (ADESIMAN) serves as a leading organization for rural development in Spain. It encompasses 56 municipalities and numerous entities. ADESIMAN also hosts the Spanish pilot for the PoliruralPlus project, collaborating closely with the Socialinnolabs Foundation.

ADESIMAN recently hosted a milestone event focusing on the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) in rural areas. Held at the historic Uclés Monastery, this initiative aimed to explore the transformative power of cultural industries in driving local development, creating employment, and attracting residents to sparsely populated areas.

The event featured a rich agenda, including expert panels, presentations, and discussions. Several Authorities attended the event: José Luis Martínez Guijarro, Castilla-La Mancha Government Vice President, The Deputy for the Environment of the Provincial Council of Cuenca, Rodrigo Molina, the delegate for the Demographic Challenge at the Cuenca Provincial Delegation of Castilla La Mancha Regional Government, Virgilio Antón, the president of the Fernando Núñez Foundation, Fernando Núñez Rebolo, the Uclés mayor, José Luis Serrano, and the Adesiman president, Victor Jimenez.

José Luis Martínez emphasized the vital role of cultural heritage in economic development. He highlighted how historic landmarks such as Uclés and Segóbriga hold immense potential for positioning rural areas as cultural tourism hubs. Moreover, Jesús Fernández, Uclés Mayor, expressed pride in the town's role as a cultural epicentre for the region.

The program also included a networking session led by professionals from various creative sectors, a keynote on integrating heritage into digital innovation, and site tours of key attractions such as the Uclés Monastery and Segóbriga Archaeological Park. Organized by Adesiman in collaboration with the Fernando Núñez Foundation, and invited Socialinnolabs Foundation as part of the PoliRuralPlus initiative, the event reinforced the potential of CCIs to revitalize rural economies by merging tradition with innovation.

These first-ever CCI-focused days underscore ADESIMAN’s commitment to leveraging culture as a driver of rural development, aligned with the broader objectives of the PoliRuralPlus project. The historic venue of the Uclés Monastery, combined with discussions on sustainable tourism and cultural entrepreneurship, set the stage for envisioning rural regions as dynamic spaces of opportunity.
