First Stakeholders Meeting

We held the first stakeholder meeting for the PoliRuralPlus project on June 18th, 2024, at the MID office in Monaghan.

Following a brief introduction to the project and its research theme – "Unlocking the Potential of the Green Economy: Exploring Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Environmental Products and Services in County Monaghan" – we had a productive discussion on several key areas:

The development of the green economy in County Monaghan and potential untapped opportunities.
Brainstorming rural-urban business opportunities.
Identifying high-potential job sectors within the green economy and climate action.

Fifteen experts from diverse sectors shared valuable insights, thoughts, and guidance on the green economy in County Monaghan. For further research, we will consider incorporating topics such as the circular economy, carbon reduction, and biomass, particularly in the context of rural-urban connections.
