FloodAI+ is pleased to invite stakeholders to its 2nd Workshop, taking place online on Monday, 13 July 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM (Lisbon time), via Microsoft Teams.
After the first FloodAI+ workshop, which focused on presenting the project, introducing JackDaw and collecting initial stakeholder questions, this second session will move one step further: participants will be invited to test JackDaw directly and provide practical feedback on the tool.
FloodAI+ aims to validate and enhance JackDaw, the PoliRuralPlus GeoAI chatbot, as a multilingual conversational interface for flood-risk information. The project explores how conversational AI can help users interpret flood-risk maps, spatial data, hazard information and geospatial insights in a clearer and more usable way.
The first workshop confirmed that stakeholders are interested in using JackDaw to better understand flood-risk information but also highlighted important areas for improvement. Participants emphasised the need for clearer answers, better adaptation to different user profiles, improved map-based outputs, and more useful support for flood-risk decision-making and communication.
The 2nd Workshop will therefore focus on hands-on validation. Participants will be invited to log in to JackDaw during the session, test practical flood-risk questions and assess the clarity, usefulness, trustworthiness and relevance of the answers provided.
During the session, participants will be encouraged to explore questions such as:
- What areas are most exposed to flooding?
- How can flood-risk maps be explained in plain language?
- What information is useful for municipalities, infrastructure managers, farmers, civil protection authorities or citizens?
- What would make JackDaw’s answers more trustworthy and actionable?
The workshop is especially relevant for municipalities, civil protection authorities, infrastructure managers, SMEs, farmers and farmers’ organisations, NGOs, researchers and citizens interested in flood-risk management, territorial resilience and AI-supported decision-making.
Feedback collected during the workshop will contribute to the FloodAI+ validation process and support future improvements to JackDaw’s explanation templates, glossary, user journeys, map-based outputs and validation methodology.
