Managing Europe's forests requires navigating vast amounts of complex geospatial data, a process that typically demands specialized GIS expertise and a significant time investment. To solve this industry bottleneck, Netherlands-based Sylvanity B.V. officially launched SYLVAN-AI in June 2026.

Billed as the "Chat-Enabled Forest Manager," the new platform is powered by cutting-edge GeoAI and the JackDaw conversational agent. Instead of toggling between multiple datasets and platforms, land managers, NGOs, and spatial planners can now interact with integrated spatial intelligence using plain language. For instance, users can seamlessly ask, "What environmental restrictions apply to this area?" to receive immediate, actionable insights.

The innovation has already gained significant European recognition following its recent selection in the PoliRuralPlus Enhance Call, which supports the validation of this technology across diverse European regions.

Building on this momentum, the newly launched SYLVAN-AI website has been actively showcased to key industry stakeholders. The platform was recently presented to major land owners' foundations, such as FPG, and leading forest institutes, including the European Forest Institute (EFI). Furthermore, the technology was a focal point at prominent industry gatherings, notably the PoliRuralPlus Jackdaw Code Camp, which successfully took place from 16–18 June.

By reducing the time-to-insight from days to mere minutes, SYLVAN-AI aims to make evidence-based policy and sustainable land-use planning more accessible for decision-makers.
