Slovak pilot has reached an important milestone by securing representation in the platform for the preparation of the National and Regional Partnership Plan (NRPP). This achievement marks a significant step forward in ensuring that innovative, place-based, and participatory approaches to rural development are reflected in future national and EU-funded policies.

The NRPP platform, coordinated by the Ministry of Investment, Regional Development and Informatization of the Slovak Republic, brings together key stakeholders from across government, regions, academia, business, and civil society. Its role is to shape strategic, analytical, and programmatic inputs for the next EU programming period (2028–2034) and to guide the long-term development priorities of Slovakia.

Strengthening the Voice of Rural Stakeholders

Through the appointment of its representative the Slovak pilot is now directly contributing to discussions on national strategic priorities. Members of the platform are responsible for providing expert inputs, participating in policy discussions, and helping define the direction of key development investments.

This inclusion ensures that perspectives from rural territories, local communities, and multi-actor partnerships are better integrated into high-level decision-making processes.

From Project Insights to Policy Impact

PoliRuralPlus focuses on enhancing rural attractiveness through integrated, data-driven, and participatory approaches. The project’s methodologies, such as foresight analysis, stakeholder engagement, and the use of advanced analytical tools, are highly relevant to the NRPP process.

This represents a concrete example of how research and innovation projects can move beyond analysis and actively shape policy frameworks.

Looking Ahead

The membership in the NRPP platform opens new opportunities to translate the Slovak Regional Action Plant and the Vision for More Attractive Rural Areas into long-term policy impact. It strengthens the connection between regional knowledge, national strategies, and European priorities.

As Slovakia prepares its future development framework, PoliRuralPlus will continue to support this process by bringing forward innovative solutions, fostering dialogue, and ensuring that rural areas are positioned as key drivers of sustainable and inclusive growth.
