Fostering innovation and strengthening collaboration are essential for supporting resilient, smart and sustainable rural communities. In this context, FUTURAL, PoliRuralPlus and EU-FarmBook are joining forces for a joint workshop on 6 October 2026, bringing together complementary expertise, digital tools and innovative approaches to rural development.
The workshop will provide an opportunity to explore how digital innovation, smart solutions, artificial intelligence and knowledge-sharing platforms can contribute to addressing the challenges and opportunities facing rural areas.
Exploring innovative solutions and digital tools
The event will open with an introduction to FUTURAL, followed by a presentation of its smart solutions, showcasing innovative approaches and technologies designed to support rural communities.
PoliRuralPlus will then present its objectives and activities. The session will also feature JackDaw, the project's GeoAI conversational assistant, which integrates geospatial data and AI-powered capabilities to facilitate access to territorial knowledge, spatial analysis and informed decision-making.
The workshop will also introduce EU-FarmBook, presenting the project and its digital platform, which facilitates access to agricultural and forestry knowledge, research outputs and practical resources for farmers, foresters, advisors and other stakeholders.
Building synergies through collaboration
By bringing together three complementary European initiatives, the workshop aims to encourage knowledge exchange, showcase innovative solutions and explore opportunities for future collaboration. The presentations will be followed by a Q&A session and an open discussion, providing participants with the opportunity to exchange perspectives and identify potential synergies.
