The first face-to-face meeting of Bavarian stakeholders took place at the TC Freyung, a research facility of the Deggendorf Institute of Technology, at the end of January. Together, we set the course for the sustainable development of rural areas. The meeting focused on how PoliRuralPlus can innovatively strengthen rural border regions. Together with representatives from science and regional innovation organizations such as the GREG start-up network, the Niederbayern Forum and the INDIGO network, we developed strategies to shape the Bavarian-Czech pilot in a targeted and long-term manner.
Valuable insights were gained in a constructive round of discussions. Among other things, content for the development of the regional action plan was discussed and the PoliRuralPlus tools ADVISER and JACKDAW were presented more detailed. The participants were confident that the innovative concept of a technology campus can also work in the cross-border region, however, with some secifications respecting the unique features of the Czech-Bavarian border region.
