Last October, the MAATool (Multi Actor Approach Tool) was recognised by the European Commission’s Innovation Radar platform as a “Business Ready” innovation, signalling that it is ready to enter the market and has strong potential for creating impact. With this recognition, the MAATool reaches a level of technological and functional maturity that allows it to be implemented in real-world contexts, offering highly promising prospects for generating economic and social impact in the coming years. This milestone forms part of the PoliRuralPlus project, funded under the Horizon Europe programme, whose aim is to promote more sustainable, inclusive and balanced rural and urban development through collaborative and data-driven approaches.

The multi-actor approach, which lies at the core of the MAATool, encourages the inclusion of all relevant stakeholders — local communities, businesses, researchers and policymakers — to co-create knowledge, share insights and guide innovation towards society’s real needs. Thanks to this philosophy, the MAATool aligns perfectly with the objectives of PoliRuralPlus, which emphasises cooperation between diverse profiles and the generation of tangible impact.

In addition, the Innovation Radar platform has identified Fundación SocialInnoLabs as a Key Innovator in the development of this innovation, highlighting the organisation’s active and innovative role in a process that has been evolving over several years.

The official publication on the Innovation Radar platform will take place soon, making this innovation visible alongside more than 13,000 others already registered. Appearing in this European showcase opens new opportunities for collaboration, investment and dissemination for all actors involved in the MAATool.

This milestone represents a significant step forward for the MAATool and for all social innovation spaces wishing to adopt a dynamic, collaborative and data-driven approach. We invite our communities, partner organisations and the general public to learn more about this tool and its integration into real initiatives.
